The University of Koblenz · Landau is one of the youngest universities in Germany and has grown considerably in its relatively short history. Since its transformation from a teacher training college in 1990, numerous new departments and institutes have sprung up. In addition, a wide range of new degree programs and chairs have been created, and existing courses and research consistently expanded. At the eight existing faculties on the two campuses in Koblenz and Landau, you can currently study Education, Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Computer Science (Koblenz) and Psychology (Landau). Since 1990 the number of students has increased dramatically to about 17.000 enrolled students, with approximately 8.500 at each campus.
The University of Augsburg was founded in 1970 and is thus one of the new, modern universities in Bavaria. At approximately 19,000 students and an academic staff of about 1,200, it is still of a manageable size, yet it attracts students and scholars from far beyond its immediate catchment area. The University of Augsburg offers a wide range of academic programmes in arts, humanities, natural sciences, business and law.
In its research, the University of Augsburg connects local with global perspectives in a network of academic discourses centered on five focus areas: Transnational Studies, Health Sciences, Resource Management, Materials Science and Applied Computer Science. In addition, top-level research is being done in all disciplines represented at the university.
We are a modern, high-profile university with an international orientation. The University of Siegen is guided by the central principle: „Creating a Common Future“. Students and academics from overseas are very welcome.
