Overview

This is mostly an extension module for Feeds and Feeds Tamper. To my understanding, it works in the exact opposite way of Synonyms. Instead of accepting and incorporating synonyms, it tries to exterminate them.

The main reason I created this module and probably its better use case is importing data through Feeds and Feeds Tamper.

Recommended use case

Maybe you run a news aggregator and you want to keep the terms of a taxonomy(E.g. Category) the same regardless of how each site provides them. For example for the category "Sports", one site calls it "Sports section" and an other "Sports news".

  • You may create a term "Sports"
  • Add to it the synonyms "Sports section" and "Sports news"
  • Add to feeds tamper the merge synonyms plugin(typing the machine name of the vocabulary)

And then every time a term "Sports section" or "Sports news" is coming in this importer, it is converted to "Sports".
